MG Georgia, seeks to provide support, comfort and education for those dealing with Myasthenia Gravis. Our group holds monthly support group meetings and semi-annual meetings featuring speakers who are experts in Myasthenia Gravis treatment and research. We encourage you to discuss anything you learn in the group with your personal physician to see if it is an option for you prior to trying it. We are an all-volunteer group led by people affected by Myasthenia Gravis. We foster a diverse group where everyone is welcome to attend our meetings and events.
In 2023, we became part of the MG Holistic Society a 501(c)(3) organization.
MG Georgia is led by national support group leader Alexis Rodriguez. Alexis has been a MG support group leader for over 13 years. He is also a member of the Rare Disease Advisory Council of Georgia. He has been living with myasthenia gravis for over 25 years and brings a wealth of knowledge to the MG community.

Next Meeting: June 5, 2023
Speaker: Allison Foss from the Myasthenia Gravis Association
Speaker bio: Our in-person guest speaker will be Allison Foss, Executive Director for Myasthenia Gravis Association ( MGA ). Allison is no stranger to Myasthenia gravis (MG). Diagnosed at age 5, Allison was later identified as an MG patient with the MuSK antibody. Raised in southeastern Iowa, Allison graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Child & Family Services. She spent 18 years working with and advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities and special needs prior to joining the Myasthenia Gravis Association (MGA) in December 2017 as the Executive Director.
Prior to becoming the director, Allison was a volunteer for the MGA as well as served on the Board of Directors. In Allison’s tenure with the MGA, the organization has grown its support groups and offerings to meet the needs of patients in their communities. Whether helping one patient at a time or twenty at a time, Allison drives on the philosophy of meeting the patients where they are in their journey with MG. Allison led the organization through COVID-19 where service offerings were expanded virtually which allowed the organization to increase its visibility from coast to coast as well as internationally. In her spare time, Allison can be found relaxing on her deck with her dog Ries, mastering a new recipe, cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones, blogging and traveling.
